Write Like You Mean It

Everyone has a story to tell, that’s the given message delivered on National Writing Day, and to be honest it’s completely true.

Whether you’re a high-flying business owner or you’re only just thinking about making those initial steps into a freelance world, big or small your story is worth listening to if you believe in it yourself.

Think about the vole we found in our back garden yesterday.  Small and incredibly cute, not giving a second thought to the immediate dangers around it.  Literally just swanning about in broad daylight stealing seedlings from the greenhouse.

Inspirational.

Now, imagine taking that very same approach with your own business.  Obviously, you don’t want to be entirely oblivious to the risks that are undoubtedly waiting for you as you take your first steps, but if you were prepared to confidently stride across the patio and pull yourself into the plant pot perhaps you too could walk away with something more than a dirty piece of tree bark?

Sounds almost like a fairy tale, doesn’t it?

Well, in order to achieve your own happily ever after it’s worth noting that your journey to business success isn’t going to be some predictable bildungsroman.  Yes, you will grow as a person but that’s also kind of the way that time works.  The older you get the more experiences you have, the more established you become, and the more reliable your friends are. The mechanics are exactly the same for your business and your brand’s audience.

So, how do we get there?

Our advice to you is to start writing, even if you’re rubbish at it.  It doesn’t matter how your story is served as long as it is digested.  What works for one does not work for everyone, hence why each brand has its own unique tone of voice, and it talks to its audience in a way that works for them.  Consumable content doesn’t always sound pretty, but when placed on the right menu it can be pretty fuckin tasty.  That’s where social media marketing comes in.

You can of course find out more about how we use social media marketing to help you achieve your long-term goals, but first you have to determine to be the vole.

Granted, it’s not going to be a leisurely stroll across the garden but be prepared for it to be as equally rewarding.
