To Be A Machine

To be a machine- the possibility of a future.

Far removed from the pages of a yellow telephone book is an unseen world of letters and numbers.  A place where meaningful interactions take place on every corner, and algorithms wait whilst happily slumped over a stool at a bar with their immediate platforms.  Each of these platforms eagerly gulp the enormous volume of content that is fed to them, becoming more intoxicated at around midday and just before a favourite period drama begins at 9pm.

Through a lack of segmentation of their content, the platforms in this numeral world become heavy and bloated, leaving the algorithms to decipher what information is to be fed to their audience once they return back home.  The regurgitation of the same old content, or divulging the wrong information to the wrong crowd, could end in disaster.

Luckily, as humans we don’t have to physically be a part of that strange and foreboding place, but we do have the ability to control what happens inside it.  We can also use the connections that we make inside of it to our own advantage.

Businesses must use the world of social to promote their brand message.

In the same way that people have taken to having the presence of a four-legged friend as their loyal companion, your business should have a strong social media presence to cement consumer’s trust.  Having direct interactions with your customers as they pass through the social funnel will not only ensure that regulars begin frequenting the spaces that you’re inhabiting, but that they will also enjoy visiting them too.

Getting to know your audience will help those invisible algorithms work their magic, allowing your tailored content to be drip fed with confidence to those that appreciate it most.  To be a machine is to not think like one.

The period of consideration and conversion of course differs for each individual brand, but rather than following in the repetitive footsteps of all of your competitors why not set out to do something unique?  Steer away from familiarity and watch your end users skip their way from awareness through to advocacy, using social to communicate with you each and every day.

Using social media will also boost your site’s SEO.

Patiently waiting around the corner from the social media platforms’ usual hangout is your website.  Alone, the site is unable to generate the footfall that it so desperately deserves, but with the help of its immediate social comrades its reputation is able to be articulated in a way that makes people want to visit it.  Just like an old and outdated catalogue, your website can become forgotten if no one is directed to flick through its pages.

Don’t leave your brand out in the cold to rust, use the mechanics of social media marketing to authenticate your brand as a progressive machine that’s built for tomorrow.

The future doesn’t have to be a dystopian concept; it can be scheduled in advance.
